Search Lake Ouachita fishing guides on the internet. You will find a few, but not a lot. Select one that has been on the lake for a good while, because "Nothing Beats Local Knowledge".
Lake Ouachita is quite famous for its LARGE striper and hybrids -- 45 lb striper are not uncommon. The lake is just 25 miles west of hot springs, which is only 350 miles (5 hours) from Texas' largest metroplex of Dallas/Ft Worth.
You'll have a real chance of catching 40 to 50 lbs striper - 15 to 20 lbs is very common and considered kind of smallish by the local fishing guide standards!
The lake also has some somewhat over-sized species like - BIG white bass, BIG crappie and some BIG perch.
Lodging is available right at the lake and the rates are said to be very reasonable.
